December is here! For most, it is by far the busiest month of the year. Coming off Thanksgiving and with more major holidays on the horizon, it can be a little overwhelming trying to pick between all the many options of December events. Well good news: we are here to add more fun to your calendar! Phoenix is at its best in December, and there are plenty of opportunities to spend time with family and friends doing fun things. Here are our favorite Phoenix attractions during December.
Holidays at the Heard
Where else can you experience life-size dinosaurs in a Christmas setting? Pretty much only at the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary. Take a stroll along the half-mile nature trail and see the beautiful nature preserve lit up with gorgeous colors that enhance the natural splendor of the area rather than overpower it. For those interested in some primo Christmas crafting, take advantage of the Heard's Holiday Family Craft Workshop!

Phoenix Zoo Lights
Animal watching and Christmas lights - It's a match made in heaven! Every year, the Phoenix Zoo transforms into a winter wonderland with millions of lights in ZooLights. You can also take care of your yearly picture with Santa here. And wherever Santa goes, you know his reindeer are sure to follow. Check out the live reindeer on display and maybe catch a glimpse of Rudolph! ZooLights brings in more than 300,000 visitors every year, so the best days to go are usually Monday-Wednesday to avoid the biggest crowds.
